NCLEX Test

The NCLEX test is used by nursing boards to award nurse licenses. It tests nursing knowledge, skills and abilities, which would be required to practice nursing safely and effectively at an entry level.

Both the RN and PN exams are offered to nursing students completing their nursing studies. Here is a breakdown of the test.

  NCLEX-RN Exam NCLEX-PN Exam
Minimum Number of Questions 75 85
Maximum Number of Questions 265 205

There are two key elements of preparing for the NCLEX test:

First, you should use a NCLEX test study guide or set of NCLEX test flashcards to be sure that you understand the test material and concepts that are covered.

Second, you should test yourself on NCLEX practice tests so that you are familiar with the test process. Many students that know the material will struggle when taking the test, simply because they aren't good test takers and do not have much experience with taking important standardized tests.

As you prepare for the NCLEX, the internet will offer lots of good resources for NCLEX test information and also for nursing jobs opportunities after you pass the NCLEX.
